It’s about combining individual strengths to achieve something bigger and better than what could be done alone. And I love doing puzzles, putting them together piece by piece to see how amazing they become as a whole!
Turning challenges into opportunities
Piotrs journey at Fellowmind has been filled with memorable moments, but one stands out as a perfect example of his creative approach to problem-solving. While leading an ERP system implementation for a manufacturing client, Piotr and his team faced a monumental challenge. Multiple areas of the system had to come together smoothly, and the complexity of the task made it feel challenging. That’s when Piotr decided to bring a little fun and clarity to the situation.
“The team started calling the system the ‘elephant’ because it felt like a massive task with many different parts, all connected but not all of them ready to function smoothly,” Piotr recalls. “To bring some clarity to the situation, I literally took a whiteboard and sketched an elephant, assigning different ERP areas to its parts. We then used colors to track the project’s status as we worked on the ‘elephant,’ trying to help it become healthy. Slowly, piece by piece, the red turned to green, and the elephant came to life before our eyes.”

A creative spin on teamwork
Piotr’s approach to the ‘elephant project’ not only brought some much-needed levity to the team, but it also illustrated how collaboration and creativity can turn a complex situation into a manageable - and even enjoyable - task. “At the end of the project phase, I told the team, ‘You see… the elephant is alive, and you rescued him!’ Seeing that visual progress - our collective efforts transforming this massive task into something achievable - motivated everyone. We weren't just solving technical issues; we were breathing life into something that felt in need of care. It became a light-hearted way to track our progress, and it gave the team something to smile about, as everything we did was connected to the life of the elephant and his journey."

He combines this with Serious about Fun, maintaining an enjoyable atmosphere where even complex tasks are approached with a sense of humour and lightness. “We work hard, but we also are the first ones on the dance floor when the music starts and we play music even during the project kick-off!”
